Some of the most common stimuli your pet may be fearful of:

  • low flying plane/helicopter noise

  • gunshot

  • fireworks

  • loud motorbikes

  • car backfiring

  • thunder and lightening

  • sirens

  • vacuum cleaners

Fears and phobias can develop from a single experience or from continued exposure to the fearful stimulus such as lightening, thunder and similar sounds.

Some animals have a mild response when exposed to a fearful situation such as hiding, trembling or clinging to their owners while others become extremely agitated and get worked up into a panic and can become quite destructive by chewing or scratching doors, walls, furniture, jumping fences and running away.

It is quite common for animals to show signs of anxiety before a thunderstorm starts as they can hear low frequency rumbles that occur while the storm is brewing.  They can also sense barometric pressure changes.

Anxiety symptoms can include:

  • barking/howling

  • excessive panting and saliva

  • trembling

  • destructive chewing

  • nervous diarrhea/urination

  • fence jumping

  • panicked running

  • hiding

  • clinging to owner

  • pacing

Animals with other fearful behaviours such as separation anxiety are more prone to having fears to loud noises.

Our Fear - Loud Noises Complex contains homeopathic and Bach flowers to help calm the nervous system, de stress and settle your pet.  Also a great formula for show animals to help them cope with the noises and stress while under the spotlight.
