COLIC RELIEF 50ml

Most commonly, colic is a result of flatulence.  Trapped gases that accumulate in the intestines causing spasmodic pain.  "Colic" is a term used to describe abdominal pain.  It can indicate a problem with the gut or other organs within the abdomen.

The causes of colic can range from trapped gas, indigestion through to more serious issues such as a twisted gut.

​

Colic is usually associated with abdominal distension (bloating) and irritability.  It can cause extreme discomfort and is potentially life threatening in some serious cases if proper treatment is not given immediately.

​

Colic affects animals of all ages and breeds at anytime, but is more common in younger animals, especially within the first year of life.

​

Symptoms of Colic:

​

  • intense pain in the gut area.  (You may see animal in an abnormal posture with his back arched and his feet tucked in)

  • gas

  • appetite loss

  • abdominal bloat

  • fatigue and lethargy

  • restlessness

  • crying and whining

  • bring up water after drinking

  • vomiting

The intensity of pain can vary from animal to animal depending on age and type of breed.  Some cases quite intense and other cases can be mild.  Animals with intense abdominal pain often curl up in a ball after eating.  You may also notice some trembling which is a sign of pain and discomfort.  With the exception of horses, you may notice the following symptoms:

  • laying on side thrashing legs about

  • increased breathing

  • sweating

  • rolling or attempting to roll

  • kicks to the abdomen area

  • elevated pulse rate

Colic Complex helps to reduce and clear symptoms associated with colic, aids in digestion and helps with pain associated with colic.

​

Dose every 5 minutes in an attack for the first hour then hourly for first 24 hours.

Then dose 5-10 times a day.  Can also place 10 drops in animal water bowl.
